Week Eighteen Report

This week we started looking into competitions and found the NBIB which seems to be a feasible option to enter, but we are still needing a more concrete prototype to meet the requirements of the program. We can submit later in the semester.

Another issue that came up from a meeting with Dr. Hammill was that air can be introduced when the model is punctured, which would then create blindspots in the ultrasound. We brainstormed ways to address this problem and decided that a gel that can be easily reused when too much air was trapped would work relatively well to solve this. We then began planning how to make an alpha prototype using a 3D printed mold tumors and blood vessels. We think that this will take roughly two weeks, and the writeup for the final report will also take about two weeks. We ordered materials that we will need for the alpha prototype.
